Christmas opening for Raymond Blanc's new brasserie and shopn!
Celebrated chef Raymond Blanc OBE will launch his seventh Brasserie Blanc in Milton Keynes on November 28th 2007. The 120-cover French Brasserie & Bar will be located in the Central Piazza and will have a warm, welcoming and stylish interior with banquette seating and terrace tables outside in the warmer months.
Raymond Blanc's first 'Maman Blanc' shop will complement the Brasserie, offering a wide range of products, including high-quality prepared dishes for customers to take home. Everything will be made on site in the Brasserie's kitchens, including the freshly-baked bread, croissants, patisserie and viennoiserie that will also feature on the breakfast/ brunch menu. In the evening the shop will transform into a private dining room, seating up to 12 guests. Hampers filled with delicious, authentic French produce will make the ideal gift for both friends and clients.
Raymond Blanc is widely acknowledged as one of the world's finest chefs and has held two Michelin stars at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons for the last 22 years. Regarded as one of the most respected restaurateurs in the industry his restaurant group, Brasserie Blanc celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year. Raymond Blanc has just completed the critically acclaimed BBC television series 'The Restaurant'.
The flagship restaurant 'Le Petit Blanc' originally opened in Oxford in 1996 and it was Raymond's aim to be the best within the Brasserie scene in England - serving good quality, freshly prepared food at affordable prices. Blanc has created a welcoming brasserie-style restaurant serving real French food close to home for both everyday dining and special occasions. Brasserie Blanc's success has continued to grow with brasseries located in key provincial towns and cities including; Oxford, Birmingham, Tunbridge Wells, Cheltenham, Manchester and Leeds. Future openings include Winchester, Liverpool, Bristol and Cambridge in early 2008.
Raymond Blanc said: "Milton Keynes is a wonderful example of a 'new town', with a thriving business community. I am really looking forward to being part of it, particularly as it's so close to my adopted home city of Oxford. In an area so rich in high quality producers and growers, I am very keen to add ingredients of local provenance to my menu."
Raymond Blanc has introduced an exciting menu offering a selection of classic and modern French dishes inspired by Raymond's childhood meals, made by his mother to include Crispy St Loup's goats cheese parcel, tomato chutney, Grilled haddock, soft poached egg, mustard butter sauce and Orange and sultana rice pudding, poached pear, Grand Marnier Sauce.
Raymond and the Brasserie Blanc team are currently meeting with local suppliers around the county to add a Buckinghamshire flavour to the menu.
The wine list is predominantly French, featuring wines sourced and bought directly from young, creative wine makers in various regions of France. The Dine with Wine menu offers a two course lunch or dinner - £11.50 lunch/£15 dinner - and includes a glass of wine. The Brasserie will be open from 10am - 10pm for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Lunch is served from 12 noon until 2.45pm; dinner from 5.30pm - 10pm Monday to Friday. It is also open all day Saturday and Sunday.
